ARTIST STATEMENT
As a child, my favourite moment was bedtime—tucked beneath my blanket, surrounded by stuffed animals, waiting for the book to open and the world to transform. With eyes closed, I traveled into lives not my own.
From the start, I lived between worlds: reality and imagination, movement and stillness, seen and unseen.
My father’s analogue camera became my first stage. Wearing his handmade dresses, I embodied the characters I dreamed of. In my teenage years, I turned the lens on myself, experimenting night after night with image, identity, and presence. I discovered the quiet magic of becoming.
Later, as I traveled the world, it was the real stories of people—told in broken English or with hands, over tea or while waiting for the bus, filled with vulnerability and quick smiles—that moved me most. These were the stories I wanted to carry, honour, embody and translate into image, movement, and sound.
In my late twenties, I returned to my birthplace to explore the stories buried within my own family. Through somatic research, visual language, and role-play, I stepped into the silences between generations—giving voice to the unsaid, the unresolved, and the deeply felt. This work taught me that connection—tender, messy, invisible—is at the heart of everything I create.
Now, through immersive performances, characters, rituals, and installations, I shape the unspeakable into something you can touch, something you can step inside, something that might open a door.
I am always listening for what longs to be felt—the bonds we carry, the love we never said aloud, the pulse of something true just beneath the surface. There is a story waiting to be told.
Living Stories
I love becoming a vessel for stories—whether my own or those entrusted to me. With a deep love for characters and embodiment, I bring them to life through movement, voice, play, presence, and transformation—allowing each to breathe and speak in their own rhythm. For me, performance is a way of honouring imagination, giving shape to emotion, and inviting connection.
